Introduction to Preparation Times:
Delivery Apps use default Preparation Times in calculating order ETA's for customers. The initial Order ETA you see on the Cuboh tablet comes straight from the delivery apps — and are created based on an average of your track record on their platform, their current driver availability, and how busy you are.
With every order, delivery apps ask "How long is this order going to take?" — and setting up a Default Preparation Time answers this question.
Setting up your Default Preparation Time:
Navigate to your Cuboh Tablet General Settings > Preparation Times. Here, you’ll be able to configure the default time for both "Delivery" and "Pickup" options.
Delivery Time
Delivery Time is only relevant if you use your own drivers, or if you contract out drivers. An example of this if you use Doordash Drive, where the delivery service itself is not controlling the drivers. This would be the default time (on average) between the order being accepted and when it is delivered to your customers, and is required if you are using your own Drivers.
Delivery time can be tough to estimate, so do your best to generalize what this time is within your order radius.
Pickup Time
Pickup Time is important for every restaurant. This is the average time between when an order is accepted at your restaurant, and when it should be picked up.
For consistency, your Pickup Time should be similar to the hardcoded prep times you've set up on your apps.
That’s it! Once that order is accepted on Cuboh, we’re going to send the preparation time you have selected to the app platform, which they will then use in coordinating a drivers’ arrival time.
Setting up your High Traffic Preparation Time:
This tablet feature allows you to configure a time frame for your restaurant's busy hours. There are a few things to take note of when using this:
When the high traffic preparation times toggle is enabled, the high traffic preparation times settings will apply during the configured time frame and days. For all other hours and days, the default preparation times will apply.
When the high traffic preparation times toggle is disabled, default preparation times will always apply.
Here's how you can use set this up:
Access the Preparation Times screen from the tablet.
Scroll down to the High Traffic Preparation Times section and enable the toggle.
Set your desired high traffic time for delivery orders. Max is 240 min.
Set your desired high traffic time for pickup orders. Max is 240 min.
Tap the Set Start Time button to inform the time when high traffic/busy hours should start to apply.
Tap the Set End Time button to inform the time when high traffic/busy hours should stop to apply.
Tap to enable the toggle for the days that high traffic preparation times should apply. Or enable the "All Days" toggle.
Tap to save.
